How Can AIT Help?

Horse - mare and foal in field

Premature separation in a young horse's life can
cause unnecessary trauma that manifests in a
variety of ways, including trust issues, hypersensitivity,
undesirable stable manners and separation anxiety.

How can AIT help?

AIT seeks to work with the animal's willing cooperation in a positive, creative way, to achieve at least one of three things:-

To identify the underlying origin or source of a problem

To help the animal process and resolve any associated
trauma, fear or negativity safely and permanently

To use positive resource-building techniques to build trust,
confidence, self-esteem and a more positive feeling state.

AIT is not a cure-all and every animal is individual in how he responds. However in the vast majority of cases, AIT has led to a quantifiable and relatively rapid improvement in well-being.

This is extraordinary considering many have been ‘last resort’ cases that had previously resisted all other attempted treatments.

What kind of problems can AIT help with?

Problems that have responded to AIT have included:

Anxiety, fears & phobias
Past trauma, PTSD* and dissociative states
Low spirits & depression
Sudden, inexplicable or unresolved behavioural/personality change
Attitude & motivation issues
Anger and/or resistance
Unresolved, unexplained or chronic symptoms & repeating injuries
Physical problems with underlying psychological cause or trigger
Human-animal relationship problems
Bereavement & loss
Performance problems

*Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

AIT has proven consistently helpful in treating last resort
cases that have failed to respond to any other treatment.

Some AIT feedback

"I emailed Brigid A photo of [my mare] and told her nothing about her history... absolutely everything she came up with, I could verify with either the breeder or the previous owner... I thank you for your help and the trust you have placed in your process... Your genuine gift and honesty is much needed in this world.  Bless you."
Karen Fullbrook, Equine Management Consultant

"Bo is much calmer and much more happy to work.  He isn't kicking the stable and the last two times I have worked with him he hasn't bucked!  Billy is being better to ride, but still having a tantrum about cantering when I ride him.  He is happy now in walk and trot.  He has also stopped turning his back on me in the stable which is great. Thanks."
Stephanie, Somerset

I believe I know my horses well, but I would not hesitate in asking for Brigid or Peter's help with any of them - there is an amazing sense of comfort in not only knowing your animals, but really understanding and being able to help them."
Sarah Wilkinson, Sameon Stud
